I can’t believe my luck this morning when I got a comment from one of the Nigerian bloggers. Checking his post led me from one site to another finding lot of Nigerian bloggers in my trail. The exciting thing about it is that most of these guys live in Nigeria and they are the kind of youths that keeps the nation’s hope alive.
I was elated to find out about the Lagos Pidgin English dictionary compiled by
Baba Willy. That is going to help the flow of my writing because it means that I don’t have to worry too much about Dave (by the way, those who think beggars can only be found in the developing countries should look at Dave's picture of Waterloo) or Martin understanding my yarns. The only problem I can foresee is that the language is too complex to be compressed into a dictionary as new words and new meanings to existing words are formed everyday on the streets of Lagos and Warri. But it’s good to know that there are basic references on the internet for the people wey no sabi.
